WWE legend and powerlifter, Mark Henry, and his wife, Jana Perry Henry, have been happily married for 20 years.
Unlike Mark Henry, whose life is like an open book, there is little to no information available about Jana. She prefers to stay out of the media’s prying eyes.
Despite staying out of the public eye, Jana remains a constant presence in Mark’s life. She has had his back at all times.
Above all, the WWE legend also respects her preference for staying lowkey. That said, he has mentioned Jana and her significant role in his life on several occasions in interviews.
In a 2024 chat with The Ringer, he shared a funny moment from a 2013 WWE storyline when he pretended to retire.
Mark recalled the time, saying:
Jana was mad, left me voicemails like, ‘You’re retiring and didn’t tell me?’

Likewise, on Busted Open Radio, he discussed Jana’s support during his wrestling and powerlifting days, saying,
My wife’s been my rock, keeping our family tight.

While intricate details surrounding their relationship timeline are concealed, Mark and Jana walked down the aisle on April 24, 2005.

Despite being married for 20 years, the spark has always stayed the same as they spice up their married life, spending quality time together.
The longtime married couple, Mark Henry and Jana Perry Henry, has created a tight-knit family of four. They have two children: a son named Jacob and a daughter named Joanna.
Mark and Jana first experienced parenthood with the arrival of their firstborn son, Jacob Henry, on October 12, 2005.
Later, they expanded their family of three to four with the birth of their daughter, Joanna, on December 31, 2009.
Both of Mark and Jana’s Kids Have Followed Their Father’s Footsteps in Wrestling and Powerlifting!
The longtime married couple’s kids, Joanna and Jacob, are deeply involved in sports.
Mark and Jana are nothing but take great pride in their kids’ athletic pursuits. In fact, they do everything in their power to support their kids and help them reach their dreams.
In 2024, talking to Austin news, the WWE star mentioned Jana helping with their kids, especially their daughter Joanna’s track events, saying, “Jana’s there cheering Joanna on at every meet.“
The couple’s firstborn, Jacob, is an athlete at the University of Oklahoma. He wrestles in the heavyweight class and plays football as a defensive tackle for the Sooners.
Back in high school at Vandegrift and Lake Travis in Austin, he was a star in wrestling, winning a state title, and also stood out in football and track.
He’s super strong, squatting around 600 pounds in high school, just like his dad.
Mark took to his Twitter to congratulate Jacob on his joining the University of Oklahoma (OU) Sooners in 2024, writing:
I am beyond proud of you, Jacob. I know that nobody will work harder than you.

In June 2025, he signed a deal with WWE’s Next In Line program, which lets him train for pro wrestling while still in college.
I am beyond proud of you Jacob. I know that nobody will work harder than you. Now you can add the University of Oklahoma fanbase as family. First honor God, then the Henry name, now the school that you represent. Hookem! and Go Boomer Sooner! https://t.co/G2Cll9nXxl

He gets to use WWE’s training center and learn from big names like Randy Orton and C.M. Punk.
Jacob’s dream is to wrestle in WWE and headline WrestleMania someday, but he’s also focused on football and school right now.
Their daughter Joanna is a middle school student, reportedly homeschooled earlier by Jana.
Joanna is just hitting her stride in high school sports back in Austin, Texas. She is already turning heads as an amateur wrestler with 3F Wrestling, competing in the 164-178-pound class.
Mark expressed his pride in her growing wrestling career in May 2025 via Instagram, writing:
Congratulations to my daughter Joanna lavel. Henry at placing 2nd at state in wrestling today!!!
Mark Henry
Likewise, a day later, he congratulated her on her very first wrestling championship, writing:
Congratulations to my daughter Joanna Henry on her first Wrestling State Championship!!!

Likewise, this past February, she placed fifth at the state championships, which had her father beaming with pride. He said she has more natural talent than even her brother Jacob.
Wrestling’s only part of what she does; Joanna’s also a star in track, racing, sprinting, and jumping her way to gold medals at the Junior Olympics a couple of years back.
Likewise, she also bagged Girls Track Athlete of the Year at her middle school last spring.
In Case You Didn’t Know
- Mark dropped out of Silsbee High School after a wrist injury ended his football dreams and a low SAT score, but he channeled that into powerlifting, winning the National High School Powerlifting Championship in 1990 as a freshman, where he squatted 270 kg.
- He made his Olympic debut at 21, competing in the 1992 Barcelona Olympics in weightlifting, and then again in 1996 at the Atlanta Olympics.
