Interstellar actor Matthew McConaughey’s got Bijan Robinson chasing his Hollywood dreams like a mentor after they met at the University of Texas.

The celebrated actor Matthew McConaughey was briefly involved in the sports industry. He played football during his youth. He played football and baseball until high school.

When he reached high school, he switched to playing tennis but, unfortunately, broke his foot. After that, he picked up golf and stuck with it until graduation.

He also had a brief stint with the Tampa Bay Rowdies soccer team during a summer camp, but he admitted he wasn’t very good and led the league in red cards.

Despite his early involvement in sports, he eventually focused on his acting career. However, he became a mentor to the Atlanta Falcons running back, Bijan Robinson.

Instellar actor Matthew McConaughey and running back Bijan Robinson crossed paths when the latter was a junior in high school and on an unofficial recruiting trip to the University of Texas.

However, it was in Robinson’s freshman year that their relationship grew, and they basically became brothers.

Matthew McConaughey, a Texas superfan and Austin resident, noticed Robinson and reached out to him. Now, the actor is basically his mentor.

Football has always been Robinson’s first priority; however, it wasn’t the only big stage he dreamt about.

As the running back pursued his football career, he also took acting classes; if not, he has often expressed his desire to become an actor.

It was in his college days when he invested his time into the craft during his freshman year.

In an interview, the running back expressed his passion for acting, saying:

I love being in front of the camera and want to be an actor.

Likewise, the 23-year-old Robinson considers their relationship as nothing but a blessing in his life.

It appears that Bijan Robinson wants to take his acting aspiration seriously and treat it as a craft, much like football.

All thanks to the running back’s passion and Matthew’s guidance, he has landed several roles so far.

Robinson’s first commercial was for his own brand of mustard. He also landed a role in the Disney Channel series “BUNK’D.”

Likewise, Robinson startled his fans with a cameo in Warrick’s role in the second episode of season 4 of the Netflix series “Outer Banks.” Despite his brief appearance, his fans lauded his acting skills.

It is just the beginning, and his fans, given his promising bond with Matthew, are looking forward to seeing him seize more opportunities.

In an interview, the running back shared that his favorite movie is The Godfather, and the opening scene left a deep impression on him.

He further described how that moment sparked a deep realization that he wanted to work in the film industry and pursue acting.

Further, reflecting on his experience filming, he mentioned that stepping onto the set with other actors didn’t feel awkward.

They treated him equally, not just as an athlete, and the experience was seamless. In fact, some lauded his acting skills.

When asked about his aspirations in the acting world, he responded without hesitation, saying his ultimate dream is to be a SUPERHERO.
