Even amid controversy, Elgton Jenkins’ parents continue to embody the quiet strength that raised an NFL star.
Green Bay Packers star Elgton Jenkins found himself in an uncomfortable spotlight last week after an incident at an Atlanta strip club that required police intervention.
The two-time Pro Bowl offensive lineman, who signed a $68 million contract extension with the Packers in 2022, visited King of Diamonds in Atlanta with friends around 11:30 PM on May 1.
According to reports from TMZ Sports, Jenkins and his companions paid the entrance fee but soon became disappointed with the club’s atmosphere.
When they requested a refund, the situation escalated into a dispute with club staff.

Jenkins & his crew paid to get in, but found that venue was way too quiet and demanded a refund from the club, leading to the conflict.

The disagreement became heated enough that the Forest Park Police Department arrived at the scene.
Body camera footage obtained by TMZ shows officers working to defuse tensions between Jenkins’ group and club employees.
Fortunately, cooler heads prevailed, with the club eventually refunding Jenkins’ money. Police left without making any arrests or issuing citations.
The 29-year-old offensive lineman has not publicly commented on the incident, and the Green Bay Packers organization has remained silent on the matter as well.
Elgton Jenkins’ Parents Stood By Him Always
Elgton’s parents, Delandra Jenkins and Elgton Jenkins Sr., have been his biggest supporters since his earliest days in football.
Delandra Jenkins remembers watching her son’s dedication to the sport from the tender age of six, when young Elgton would selflessly put himself on the line to protect his quarterback.
This early commitment to his teammates foreshadowed his future as one of the NFL’s premier offensive linemen.
“I’ve gotten so many phone calls and Facebook was just lit up with Elgton,” Delandra told Packers Wire after her son was drafted.
“It’s been crazy, but I thank God for it, that we were able to be at home and be with family and friends and his old teachers, his old coaches were there when he got the call. It was exciting.”

Elgton Jenkins Sr. shares his wife’s pride but has always maintained a protective concern for his son.
When Elgton was drafted, his father expressed mixed emotions:
“I’m proud. I’m so happy for him. But at the same time, I want him to go there and be safe and do a good job too, like he did in college.”

The Jenkins family celebrated together when Elgton received his Pro Bowl nod in 2020, with his mother “hollering on the phone” upon hearing the news.
Their support became even more crucial when Elgton faced eight separate knee injuries that eventually required reconstructive surgery.
Through this “dark time,” as his mother described it, the family’s bond remained strong.
When the Packers showed their faith in Jenkins with his $68 million contract extension, the first person he called was his mother, who was “excited” about this new chapter in her son’s career.
Despite their son’s recent involvement in the Atlanta strip club incident, Jenkins’ parents have remained mum.
Neither Delandra nor Elgton Sr. has issued any public statement regarding the altercation, choosing instead to maintain privacy during this challenging moment in their son’s public life.
Their silence is consistent with the humble, grounded approach they’ve instilled in their son throughout his journey from a football-loving six-year-old to an NFL star.
As Elgton Jenkins Sr. reflected years ago:
“When he did get called up in college and high school, we had a chance to go do things with him that we probably didn’t know that he was going to go to the NFL, but he was doing things in that direction, to point him to the NFL. We kind of knew that he was going to try and grind it out and make it to the next level.”

His parents’ support has helped shape Jenkins into the resilient professional he is today, navigating both on-field successes and off-field challenges.
