Jesse Byrd, a dedicated basketball coach at McCracken County High School in Paducah, Kentucky, tragically passed away in April 2025.

While there has been no official report indicating the cause of Jesse Byrd’s untimely passing, his loss has deeply affected his family, friends, and students.

His death has left a void in the Paducah community, where he was admired for his commitment to mentoring student-athletes.

Jesse Byrd Held Multiple Roles Within The McCracken County School District from 2020 To 2024!

Jesse Byrd, a lifelong resident of Paducah, Kentucky, was a dedicated coach, mentor, educator, and basketball official.

He graduated from Lone Oak High School and later earned a degree in Recreation and Leisure Services from Murray State University.

His career was deeply rooted in education and athletics, working as an In-School Detention Paraprofessional at Lone Oak High School.

He served as the 21st Century Program Coordinator and a head Coach for McCracken County High School and actively coached the Mustang basketball team and the Lady Mustang track team.

Additionally, Jesse was a respected basketball official with the First Region Basketball Association, dedicating over 17 years to the sport he loved.

Beyond his coaching career, Jesse had a deep passion for sports of all kinds and enjoyed playing golf and singing at his church.

This year, he danced in honor of Sylas, Abel, Ariel, and Daniel as part of Dancing for Gold 2022 while also fundraising alongside Angie Woods.

His commitment to his community and his love for uplifting others made him a cherished figure.

Jesse Byrd was a devoted husband to Karley Renee Byrd and a loving father to their two daughters, Addie and Mallie.

His passing is undoubtedly a great loss to his family, students, and the broader community.

Tributes have poured in from students, parents, colleagues, and friends, remembering him as a pillar of positivity and encouragement.

Many recall how he never gave up on kids, always seeing their potential before they believed in themselves.

Plans are already underway to honor his legacy, including scholarships and athletic awards in his name, ensuring his passion for empowering youth lives on.
