A Palm Beach Gardens mother is speaking out after her daughter was reportedly mocked, barked at, and filmed by other girls during a local birthday party last weekend.
The incident, which took place on Saturday, May 16, at Craft Haus, has since stirred strong reactions from parents across the community after the mother shared her experience in a popular local Facebook group.
The mother, who posted under the username FriendlyPanda4271 in the Palm Beach Gardens Moms group, described a troubling scene that unfolded during what was supposed to be a fun celebration for a child named Sophie.
According to her account, a group of girls at the party singled out her daughter, making fun of her, barking at her, and even recording her on video.
What made the situation worse, she said, was that at least one of the mothers present appeared to watch without intervening.
“I even witnessed one of the mothers staring while her daughter pointed mine out, which was even more disgusting,” the post read.
The mother added that while her daughter was fortunately resilient enough to brush off the cruelty, she worried about other children who might not have the same emotional strength to handle that kind of treatment.
A Community Rallies in Support
The post quickly gained traction, drawing dozens of responses from other parents who were equally appalled by what was described.
Many pointed the finger not just at the children involved but at the adults who were present and did nothing to stop it.
Brenna Carder wrote,
“Gross parenting. Unacceptable. The apple obviously doesn’t fall far from the tree. Karma comes back around. Keep being an amazing mama leading by example.”

Brittany Strait added,
“So wild, just shows where they get it from to be young and cruel.”

Jennifer Lanner Parrott commented,
“Gross behavior. Shame on kids and especially the moms. Sorry this happened.”

Samantha Montag kept it short but pointed, writing, “Wow, it starts from home.”
Parents Call for Accountability
The incident has reignited a broader conversation in the Palm Beach Gardens community about how bullying behaviors in children often mirror what they observe at home.
Several commenters noted that parental responsibility plays a direct role in shaping how children treat others in social settings.
Tamara Astacio Thomas said plainly,
“Bullying comes from bad parenting for sure.”

Joany Arpe echoed the sentiment, writing,
“Bad parenting shows up everywhere, it’s an epidemic.”

Stacy Keller Kaufman offered a softer but equally sincere response, saying,
“So sorry to hear your daughter was treated that way.”

The original poster closed her message with a direct appeal to the families who attended the party, urging them to have honest conversations with their children about empathy and respect.
While she expressed gratitude that her daughter handled the situation with maturity and confidence, she made clear that not every child would walk away from that kind of public humiliation unscathed.
As of now, no formal complaints have been reported to any local authorities, but the post continues to circulate among Palm Beach Gardens parents, many of whom say the community deserves better from its own members.
