Park Sang-young – Early Life and Family
On October 16, 1995, Park Sang-young was born to a Korean family in Jinju, Gyeongsangnam-do, South Korea. He was born to Park Jeong-seop and his wife. Unfortunately, not much is known about Park’s family.

The Making of South Korean Fencing Expert: Park Sang-young
Park started fencing at the early age of 12. He is 29 years old now, and it won’t be wrong to say that Sang-young has been into fencing for most of his life.
Park was in his middle school, then somewhere in South Korea. He was practicing and playing in his sports classes when a teacher spotted him and got stunned by the raw talent possessed by a 12 years old kid.
Park didn’t have a fencing background. Neither was his family associated much with sports. Park, indeed, had something special in him that drove him to the unconventional path of fencing. To the Sang-young family, the sports world was unconventional.
Park demonstrated his potential to the full extent and impressed everyone. The teacher who first saw his talent did the most righteous thing by introducing Park to professional fencing.
As a result, Park won the junior world championship for men’s individual epee competition at the World Fencing Championship held in Moscow, Russia. He achieved this feat within five years of his training in epee fencing.
