Parkersburg South Community Grieves the Loss of Cheerleader Chloe Barre

Former Parkersburg South Patriots cheerleader Chloe Barre was killed in an all-terrain vehicle accident on February 10, 2025.

The Wood County Sheriff’s office reported that deputies were dispatched to the 1500 block of Sams Creek Road in the area of Paddle Run at approximately 2:36 a.m. after reports of a UTV accident.

Upon arrival, first responders saw that a red and white Polaris RZR was the vehicle involved in the wreck.

Two people, the male driver and female passenger (Chloe Barre), were dead at the scene. A third male passenger, Edward Mccomas III, survived and went to a nearby home to call for help.

Authorities believe alcohol was a factor in the crash, which is currently under investigation.

She is survived by her parents, Bridgett and Chris Barre, and two sisters, Cami and Cali Barre.

Chloe went to Parkersburg South High School, where she was a Patriots cheerleader and graduated in 2021.

Chloe was connected to Parkersburg South and had a lively presence and friendly personality.

She was a restaurant server, starting at Texas Roadhouse in 2019 and then at The Galley in 2023.

Aside from being a restaurant worker, Chloe was also an Instagram influencer, sharing her life and interests on the platform with growing fans.

Chloe Barre’s death took the Parkersburg community by surprise. Relatives, friends, and people who knew her offer sincere condolences.

Many expressed that she was pure, one of the kindest they had ever met.

“Chloe Barre you left this world way too soon 😩💔Heaven gained the most beautiful angel today!🪽You have the purest soul there ever was! I watched you from The Kids’ Casa and then you watched my own babies🥰 You impacted the MOV more than you’ll ever know!! You will truly be missed.

She was such a phenomenal light and sweet soul. She always kept us laughing. She will be missed beyond measure.
