Bernard Power was a beloved young footballer who played for Parkvilla’s U10 team and was a student at Scoil Naomh Eoin.
Tragically, he passed away after a sudden illness at Temple Street Hospital on May 23, 2025, surrounded by his family.
His passing has deeply affected his school, football club, and the wider Navan community.
Bernard Power’s Parents Have Strong Roots In Navan!
Bernard Power Jr.’s father, Bernard Sr., is originally from Navan and continues to reside there.
He attended Beaufort College in Navan for his education, further strengthening his ties to the local community.
His wife, Chloe, is originally from the same place, and their family remains deeply connected to the area.
They are proud parents to five children: four daughters and a beloved son.
Recently, they have been devastated by the heartbreaking loss of their young son, Bernard Power Jr.
Bernard Power Jr. is deeply missed by his grieving parents and his cherished sisters, Isabella, Arianna, Sophia, and Ruby.
He also leaves behind his grandparents, Bernard, Suzanne, Aishling, and Sonny, along with his extended family, including aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends from his school and football community.
His soccer club, Parkvilla, suspended all junior playing activities for the weekend as a mark of respect.

Parkvilla are saddened to hear of the passing of our U10 Player Bernard Power. We would like to express our deepest condolences to his parents Bernard & Chloe, his sisters & the extended Power & Conaty family.
His school and local leaders have expressed their condolences, remembering him as a bright and cherished presence.
Moreover, Athboy Celtic honored Power with a minute of silence, ensuring all coaching league matches were played in good spirits.

- Bernard Power will repose at his residence on Tuesday, May 27, from 2 PM to 8 PM, and again on Wednesday from 2 PM.
- His removal will take place at 5:30 PM to St. Mary’s Church, Navan, where evening prayers will be held at 6:30 PM.
- The Funeral Mass will be conducted on Thursday morning at 10 AM, followed by interment at St. Finian’s Cemetery, Old Athboy Road, Navan.
