The former captain of the Boston Bruins, Patrice Bergeron, is happily married to his wife, Stephanie Bertrand.

Patrice Bergeron-Cleary is a retired Canadian ice hockey center who had an illustrious career spanning 19 seasons with the Boston Bruins in the NHL.

He was selected as the 45th overall pick by the Bruins in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft.

Impressively, Bergeron made a direct transition from junior hockey to the NHL right after being drafted, joining the Bruins during the 2003-2004 season.

On the international stage, Bergeron proudly represented Canada and achieved remarkable success, securing gold medals at various prestigious events.

These include the 2004 World Championships, 2005 World Junior Championships, 2010 Winter Olympics, 2012 Spengler Cup, and 2014 Winter Olympics.

Moreover, he became a distinguished member of the Triple Gold Club when he won the Stanley Cup with the Boston Bruins in 2011.

Patrice Bergeron is married to Stephanie Bertrand, his longtime partner. They started their relationship in 2006 and tied the knot in 2013 after dating for seven years.

Stephanie earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology from Laval University in Quebec City in 2011.

The couple now has four children – three boys named Zach, Noah, and Felix, and a daughter named Victoria.

Felix is the youngest among the four, as he was born on July 8, 2023.

Bertrand maintains a remarkably private lifestyle, even though she is married to a professional athlete. She doesn’t have social media like her husband. 

Stephanie finds joy in motherhood and prefers to keep a low profile away from public attention.

Patrice Bergeron Has Retired From Professional Career 

In a thoughtful statement released by the Boston Bruins, Patrice Bergeron, the team captain, declared his retirement from the NHL on Tuesday.

“It is with a full heart and a lot of gratitude that today I am announcing my retirement as a professional hockey player.” 

Bergeron had hinted at retirement the previous year. Despite the speculation, he chose to come back for another season as the Bruins pursued their second Stanley Cup victory in 12 years.

Regardless, after celebrating his 38th birthday on July 24, he finally made the decision. 

Bergeron played a pivotal role in leading the team. It helped them earn a place in NHL history with impressive records of 65 wins and 135 points.
