Since the beginning of his professional career, Paul George has come a long way, establishing himself as one of the richest basketball players in the United States, with an estimated net worth of $110 million.

After playing for two years at Fresno State, George declared he would enter the 2010 NBA draft.

Soon after, the Indiana Pacers selected him tenth overall and signed him to a two-year guaranteed contract worth $3.9 million, making him the ‘highest NBA draft pick in Fresno history.’

During his two-year tenure with the Pacers, he made an excellent record and earned titles such as NBA All-Rookie Second Team, NBA Most Improved Player, All-NBA Third Team, and many others.

Eventually, on September 25, 2013, the Indiana Pacers extended the contract with George, and he remained associated with the team until 2017.

During this period, he succeeded in becoming an All-Star and winning an Olympic gold medal.

After that, he played two seasons, from 2017 to 2019, for the Oklahoma City Thunder, though ESPN reported that Paul agreed to sign a four-year, $137 million deal with the team.

Then, in December 2020, he signed a three-year extension with the Los Angeles Clippers for $153 million.

His initial deal offer from the Clippers was $60 million, which he rejected, and lastly, the team negotiated with him for $153 million.

During his appearance at Podcast P, Paul had opened up about it and said,

I never wanted to leave LA…. the first initial deal was like two years, 60. So I’m like, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. Two years, 60? That’s crazy! I’m not signing that…. So now we going into negotiations and they bring it to 3 years, 150 [million] and I’m like alright, we’re in the ballpark. Now we can have a conversation.

On July 6, 2024, he received a four-year, $212 million contract from the Philadelphia 76ers, which included $211 million guaranteed and an average annual salary of $52 million.

Now, he is all set to make his debut with the 76ers.
