James Borrego, an American professional basketball coach currently serving as the associate head coach of the New Orleans Pelicans, has had his longtime wife, Megan, by his side through all of life’s ups and downs.
The former Charlotte Hornets head coach, James Borrego, and his longtime wife, Megan Kennedy Borrego, have known each other since childhood, as they are both natives of Albuquerque, New Mexico.
“James and I grew up basically in the same houses,” said Megan Borrego in an interview.

Furthermore, James Borrego and Megan attended the same high school, Albuquerque Academy in Albuquerque, New Mexico, where James not only helped the team reach the state title game four consecutive seasons but also won the heart of his now wife.
Although the couple was in a long-distance relationship while James attended the University of San Diego and Megan studied at Santa Clara, they continued to date and eventually tied the knot in 2001.
From high school sweethearts to happily ever after, James Borrego and his wife, Megan, have been happily married for over two decades and remain each other’s constant supporters.
Despite being the wife of a renowned basketball coach, Megan prefers to maintain a low profile and hasn’t shared much about her professional life; however, James often expresses his love for his longtime partner.
In a 2016 interview, James Borrego said:
“She was my high school sweetheart, she has supported me 100 percent, and been with me throughout all the moves. She is really a major piece of why I am where I’m at. It’s been tough for her, but she’s the one who makes the family wherever we are.”
