Wesley Bryan’s father, George III, was a PGA professional who founded the George Bryan Golf Academy in Chapin, South Carolina.
The PGA Tour suspended Wesley Bryan for participating in a LIV Golf-backed event two weeks ago.
Though Bryan told the golf website Monday Q, which first reported the suspension, Tour officials have not commented that he wasn’t informed how long the ban would last, and indicated he would follow the tour’s appeals process.
Bryan, 35, is attending but not competing this week in the PGA Tour’s Corales Puntacana Championship in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. Last year, he finished second to Billy Horschel.
It is on the schedule opposite the RBC Heritage, which Bryan won in 2017 in his native South Carolina for his first PGA Tour victory.
Bryan, who no longer has full tour status, has played three events in 2025, one as recently as March. He tied for 25th at the Farmers Insurance Open in January and has missed two cuts.
He is 169th in the FedExCup standings (31 points) with $75,068 in official earnings this season.

Born on March 26, 1990, Donald Wesley Bryan’s father, George Bryan III, and mother, Valerie Bryan, live in Chapin, South Carolina, where George operates as the head instructor at the George Bryan Golf Academy.
According to George’s Facebook handle, he is originally from Allendale, South Carolina. He went to Irmo High School and later graduated from the University of South Carolina.
Watching his father play on the PGA tour, Wesley also chose to pursue his career in golf.
Wesley’s mother, Valerie, was born to her mother, Sally H. Rash, and her father, Donald E. Rash. She grew up with her sister, Laura Hancock, and one brother, Michael Rash.
Valerie’s father, Donald E. Rash, a graduate of Virginia Polytechnic Institute, passed away on Monday, June 20, 2017, at 83.
On the other hand, her mother, Sally H. Rash, who worked at Bryan’s Cleaners and Hook n’ Needle, passed away on Monday, August 6, 2018, at 82.

Wesley Bryan has one younger sister, Mary Chandler Bryan, and one brother, George Bryan IV.
Born on January 12, 1988, George Bryan IV, 37, finished first in the South Carolina Heritage Classic Foundation Player rankings to win the Jay Haas Player of the Year Award in 2005.
George was named PING All-Southeast Region and was an honorable mention All-American after leading the Gamecocks with four top-10 finishes. He also earned SEC Golfer of the Week honors twice.
Wesley and George started a YouTube channel named Bryan Bros Golf for trick-shot videos.
Welsey’s sister, Maya Chandler, has also been a collegiate-level golfer. She played four seasons of college golf at the College of Charleston (2012-16).
She was a two-time All-Colonial Athletic Association First Team honoree (2014 and 2015).
