Wesley Bryan, the former PGA Tour champion turned YouTube golf influencer, is officially suspended from the PGA Tour, and he’s not backing down.
The 35-year-old’s suspension stems from his participation in LIV Golf’s content creator event, “The Duels: Miami,” back in April.
Despite the fallout, Bryan continues to support LIV-related events, further complicating his relationship with the PGA Tour.
Let’s break down the rise, fall, and possible redemption of one of golf’s most unconventional stars.
Wesley Bryan Was Suspended For Playing In A LIV Golf-affiliated Event
In April 2025, Wesley Bryan was suspended by the PGA Tour after playing in a LIV Golf-affiliated event called “The Duels: Miami.”
The Tour claimed that, despite the event being unofficial and influencer-based, it was still under the LIV Golf umbrella and therefore violated PGA Tour rules.
Bryan, however, disagreed.
He argued that the suspension was unjustified, believing the PGA Tour’s policy only applied to official LIV Golf tournaments, not third-party exhibition events tied to the league.
He promptly announced he would appeal the decision.
Yet, in a move that surprised many, Bryan doubled down by appearing in another LIV content event, this time at the Robert Trent Jones Golf Club in Virginia.
By choosing to participate in another Duels event while suspended, Bryan has made it clear: his loyalty is shifting toward LIV Golf and digital media.
Whether this is a misstep or a long-term pivot remains to be seen, but one thing is sure: Wesley Bryan’s priorities have changed.
He knows he’s no longer at his peak, sitting 179th in the FedExCup standings and lacking full Tour status.
One source close to Bryan said,
“He still respects the PGA Tour and doesn’t hold a grudge but he’s doing what he feels is best for his career and family.”
Wesley Bryan Has Earned Over Five Million From Prizes Earnings
Wesley Bryan isn’t your typical Tour pro.
He and his brother, George Bryan, built their brand through trick-shot videos and instructional content on the Bryan Bros Golf YouTube channel, which now has nearly 600,000 subscribers.
Bryan’s professional breakthrough came in 2017, when he clinched his first and only PGA Tour win at the RBC Heritage.
That win earned him a two-year Tour exemption and a ticket to the Masters in 2018, a childhood dream fulfilled.
After his win, Bryan said,
“It’s one that I grew up dreaming on the practice green late at night… To get it done here is one of the coolest experiences ever.”
Since then, Bryan has earned over $5.2 million in career prize money.
But more importantly, he has built a multimedia brand that allows him to stay relevant and profitable, even when he’s not inside the ropes.
Will Wesley Bryan Return To The PGA?
Wesley Bryan’s PGA Tour suspension is undoubtedly a massive setback, but not necessarily the end.
With LIV Golf’s creator series expanding and Bryan’s media presence growing, he may be redefining what success looks like in professional golf.
Still, the PGA Tour holds the keys to elite-level competition, and it remains to be seen whether his appeal will be taken seriously now that he’s doubled down on LIV involvement.
For now, the golf world watches, not just to see if Wesley Bryan gets reinstated, but to see whether he even wants to be.
