Starting with the fundamental information, Phil was born on December 31, 1995, to his parents, Phil Sr and Robin Booth.

Booth got enrolled at Mount Saint Joseph in Baltimore and played high school basketball there.
Phil was not forced to go over something which he did not want to. He had his pick of schools and was open to going anywhere. Joining Josephs was not a bad decision at all.

As soon as Phil came out of high school, Phil joined Villanova during the 2014-15 season and was all set to give his best potential for the team, Villanova Wildcats.
As a freshman, he managed to grab the Philadelphia Big Five rookie of the year at the end of the season. This clearly states that he instantly showed off his talent.
By the time Phil stepped into his sophomore year, he had impeccably made his mark for the 2015-16 season.
