Tim Adams, a Special Olympics Athlete, passed away from a seizure in his sleep on November 4, 2025.

He was an example of the “Brave in the attempt” part of the Special Olympics athlete oath.

Tim was originally from Largo, Florida, and graduated from Pinellas Park High School in 2015. He was one of the dedicated athletes with the Special Olympics, coached by Tim Scholz.

Coach Scholz shared the sad news, remembering him not for being the most athletic but for his incredible heart and effort.

Tim would always happily show off the ribbons and medals he won. He perfectly embodied the Special Olympics athlete oath to be “Brave in the Attempt.”

He always tried his best, whether it was on the baseball field, where Scholz first met him years ago at a Challenger Baseball Jamboree, or in other sports.

His joyful and brave example will continue to inspire all who knew him.

Tim Adams’s Family Mourns the Tragic Loss

Timothy Adams was the son of Scott Adams and Denise Adams. His parents raised him alongside his twin brother, Scott, in Largo, Florida.

He was a beacon of joy and determination who passed away in his sleep from a seizure in November 2025.

Tim faced the world with a unique and radiant spirit from a young age, captivating all who knew him with his infectious smile and boundless heart.

He found his community and his calling through two organizations that celebrated his abilities.

As a dedicated Special Olympics athlete, he demonstrated incredible courage, perseverance, and sportsmanship. The camaraderie and achievement he found on the field were a profound source of pride and happiness.

Likewise, the same joyful spirit thrived in the Boy Scouts of America, where he embraced adventure, learned new skills, and embodied the values of loyalty and helpfulness.

Tim’s family described him as a happy boy who often smiled, and his presence was a gift. His ability to find joy in simple moments and his unconditional love left an indelible mark on his family and all who were fortunate enough to know him.

He leaves behind a family who cherished him deeply.

His loving parents, Scott and Denise Adams; his twin brother and constant companion, Scott; his grandmother, Deborah Carter; and his niece, Shanisty Hershberger, survive him.

Denise Adams, a special education assistant who has dedicated her life to supporting children with unique needs, is now navigating an unimaginable loss.

The Adams family was not prepared for this tragedy, both emotionally and financially.

In response, Denise has created a GoFundMe fundraiser to give Tim the funeral service he deserves as she tries to find the strength to support his grieving brother.

Instead of flowers, the family humbly requests that those who are able consider donating to the GoFundMe campaign to help cover funeral expenses during this devastating time.

Tim’s life was a powerful lesson in resilience, joy, and the purest form of love. His memory will forever be a blessing to his family, his friends, and his entire community.

Rest In Peace, Tim Adams.
