Pittsfield High School football player Jesse Davidsmeyer died in a crash on U.S. Route 67 in Woodson.
Jesse was a standout athlete who played as a running back and linebacker for the Pittsfield Saukees football team.
In the 2024 season, he rushed for 913 yards and scored nine touchdowns, ranking him among the top 80 rushers in Illinois.
He showcased his fantastic gameplay with several victories for the Saukees, including a game against Auburn where he rushed for 194 yards and three touchdowns.
Off the field, he was a student with the aspiration to study engineering after graduation.
Jesse Davidsmeyer Passed Away At 18 In A Fatal Accident
Pittsfield High School student-athletes Jesse Davidsmeyer, 18, and Joel Noble, 17, were killed in a two-vehicle crash in Morgan County on Saturday, May 24, 2025.
As per the reports, the accident happened around 2:15 p.m. at U.S. Highway 67 and Woodson Winchester Road.
The vehicle in which Jesse and Joel were passengers was reportedly struck in a devastating T-bone collision, leaving Jesse and Joel fatally injured at the scene.
Two other students involved in the crash remain in critical condition at a nearby trauma center.
Pikeland CUSD #10 Superintendent Todd Fox shared a statement on the Facebook page Saturday night. Fox said,
“As a school and community, we are in absolute shock and overwhelmed with grief.”

In the days ahead, the school will organize counseling and make resources available for students, staff, and community members.

Jesse Davidsmeyer Is Survived By His Parents And Two Brothers
Born in 2006, Jesse Davidsmeyer was raised by his father, Jeremy, and his mother, Mallory Davidsmeyer. His parents tied the knot on December 31, 2005.
His father, Jeremy, studied for a Master’s in Education Administration at Hannibal-LaGrange University and serves as dean of students at Lincoln Elementary School.
In addition, he was a former supervisor at the Missouri Department of Corrections.
On January 23, 2025, Jeremy wished Jesse a happy 18th birthday through his official Facebook handle. He wrote,

Jesse shared a close bond with his mother, Mallory. On November 20, 2023, Jesse took to his Facebook handle and wished his mother, Mallory, a happy birthday. He wrote,
