The Texarkana community is grappling with heartbreak following the tragic death of 19-year-old Kaden Allen in a car accident on State Highway 8.

The fatal crash occurred on Friday at approximately 2:13 p.m., prompting an immediate response from Texas Department of Public Safety troopers.

According to investigators, Kaden Allen was behind the wheel of a 2021 Dodge Charger, traveling southbound on the highway when he veered into the northbound lane and collided with a log truck.

Sadly, Allen was pronounced dead at the scene. His passenger, 19-year-old Lane Smith, declined medical treatment, while the driver of the log truck, 29-year-old Richie Delarosa, escaped without injury.

Authorities have confirmed that the investigation into the crash remains ongoing as the community reels from the devastating loss.

Kaden was taken from us in a tragic accident,” Gibson shared, urging the community to donate and help cover funeral and burial expenses.

Kaden’s mother, Kimberly Schobey Allen, shared a raw, emotional tribute to her son, describing her heart as “shattered into a million pieces.”

She reflected on Kaden as her greatest accomplishment, saying,

“He was the most loving, empathetic person I’ve ever known… I wouldn’t trade this hurt for the blessing of loving and raising the most amazing young man in the world.”

Mark V. Allen, Kaden’s uncle, struggled to find the words to process the tragedy, emphasizing how proud the family was of Kaden’s work ethic and plans for the future.

You already had life set up… leaving for Fayetteville in a month or so to go to school,” he wrote.

“Life isn’t fair! It wasn’t your time, Kaden.”
