Pleasantville High School is mourning the tragic death of student-athlete Jeury Perez.
Jeury Perez, a senior at Pleasantville High School in New Jersey, made a name for himself as a versatile two-sport athlete, excelling in both baseball and football.
Standing 5’9″ and weighing 155 pounds, Perez played a significant role for the Pleasantville Varsty Baseball team as the #1 outfielder.
During the 2024 season, he showcased consistent offensive production, recording multiple hits, stolen bases, and maintaining a strong batting and on-base percentage.
Notably, he contributed to a commanding 26-6 victory over LEAP Academy on May 20, 2024.
On the football field, he served as a wide receiver and defensive back for the Pleasantville Varsity Football team, wearing jersey #13.
Over the 2024 season, he recorded 55 receiving yards on eight receptions, averaging 6.9 yards per catch, and added a kickoff return to his stat line.
He played in six games, including a narrow 28-26 win over Oakcrest High School on October 11, 2024.
His contributions earned him recognition within Division South Group 3 and West Jersey-continental leaderboards.

As per his family, the funeral service will be held at Serenity Funeral Home in Pleasantville, NJ 08232 on Saturday, March 14, 2026.

Jeury Perez was born on December 16, 2006 to his mother, Jen Perez Melo and his father whose identity has not been revealed.
As per Jen’s Facebook handle, she went to Atlantic City High School. She has been serving as cocktail server at Bally’s Atlantic City.
