On the morning of April 14, 2025, a devastating three-vehicle crash in Harford County, Maryland, on Churchville Road near North Stepney Road, claimed the life of Tyler Lingenfelter and left his three young sons Cameron, Cayden, and Colton severely injured.

The 33-year-old Tyler Lingenfelter of Havre de Grace was pronounced dead at the scene, whereas his three boys sustained injuries.

Cameron Keith, the oldest of three sons, was flown to a hospital and is in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU with no brain activity, fighting to survive.

Unlike Cameron, Cayden Williams and Colton Sebastian, the younger boys, are hospitalized with non life-threatening injuries. The two boys broke their bones and have undergone surgeries to address their injuries.

Chantella’s cousin Nancy Blachowicz wrote a lengthy eulogy expressing her grief. She also wrote words of hope and encouragement for the Lingenfelter family, praying for Cameron’s health, which reads:

We also pray for the medical professionals who are caring for Cameron . Grant them wisdom, skill, and discernment as they provide the necessary treatment and care. Guide their hands and give them insight into the best course of action for his recovery.

Cameron’s father, Tyler, worked at Burkhardt’s Care LLC. Zach Burkhardt from the company expressed his grief, “We ask that you keep his children in your thoughts as they recover in the hospital, and extend your prayers to his family as they face this challenging period.

The accident reportedly occurred shortly after 10 a.m. on Churchville Road (MD-22) west of N. Stepney Road in Aberdeen.

Tyler was driving his Chevrolet Traverse westbound with his boys in the car. For reasons police don’t yet know, the Traverse crossed the center line and hit a box truck coming the other way.

The box truck then crashed into a Ford Transit van, causing a three-vehicle wreck that injured six people in total.

Following the tragic accident, Chantella’s best friend, Destiny Wright, started a GoFundMe to help with medical bills and Tyler’s funeral costs, writing:

Chantella will be out of work for a while due to her children’s injuries, so we are asking for a little bit of help, even if it’s $1. I will provide updates as I receive them. Thank you and please continue to pray for Cameron, Cayden, Colton and the rest of the family.

The fundraiser shared a photo of Cameron, Cayden, and Colton smiling in matching Grinch pajamas by a Christmas tree taken just months before the crash.

By Wednesday afternoon, the funds raised through the GoFundMe campaign surpassed its target of $25,000, with contributions exceeding the intended amount.

The crash also injured the occupants of the other vehicles involved. The driver of the box truck, a 55-year-old man, and his passenger, a 44-year-old woman, were transported to local hospitals for treatment.

The driver of the Ford Transit van, a 62-year-old man, was also hospitalized. Meanwhile, the conditions of these individuals remain undisclosed as the investigation continues.

Maryland State Police are still investigating why Tyler’s car crossed the center line. They were helped at the scene by the Harford County Sheriff’s Office, emergency services, and the Level Volunteer Fire Department.

We extend our condolences to Lingenfelter’s family and pray for the speedy recovery of the three Lingenfelter boys.
