A former student recalled a cherished memory from the late 1980s, when Coach Bethell walked in on a loud Hall & Oates song and, with quiet humor, left behind a moment that became unforgettable.
That student described him as a lifetime mentor, a good father, and a true friend, offering condolences to Michelle and Craig while lamenting not being able to attend the service.

As shared by his daughter, Michelle Bethell Bennett, Coach Jerry Bethell’s celebration of life will be held on Sunday, January 24, 2026, and the visitation will begin at 1:00 PM.
Likewise, the funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM at First Methodist Church in Cameron.
