Randy Orton revisited the infamous 2009 WWE segment where he kissed Stephanie McMahon for the first time in years.

Back in 2009, WWE fans witnessed one of the most controversial and unforgettable segments in the buildup to WrestleMania 25.

Randy Orton, portraying a cold and calculating villain, escalated his feud with Triple H by targeting his wife, Stephanie McMahon.

During a live episode of RAW, Orton delivered a brutal RKO to Stephanie, rendering her unconscious, and then kissed her in front of a handcuffed Triple H, who was forced to watch helplessly.

The moment was designed to push emotional boundaries and intensify the storyline, but behind the scenes, Orton was deeply uncomfortable with the act.

Randy Orton Talked Again About The Shocking Moment When He Kissed Stephanie McMahon During a WWE Segment!

Randy Orton had previously talked about his awkward moment when he kissed Stephanie McMahon in the 2020 After The Bell podcast with Corey Graves.

Throughout the conversation, he reflected on how uncomfortable and nervous he felt during the segment.

In recent days, he once revisited the topic again during the July 2025 episode of What’s Your Story? with Stephanie McMahon.

He shared more details this time about the intense rehearsal in front of Stephanie McMahon, the woman he kissed during the segment.

He said that he felt very uncomfortable doing the scene, especially with Vince McMahon, Stephanie’s dad, and Triple H, her husband, watching, saying:

I was in my 20s, and I was so nervous. And so, your father’s there, husband’s there… it was awkward as hell.

Additionally, he admitted he hoped the segment would be cut and said:

Like, I was just like, awkward. I feel like I’m beet red. He was cool with it and had the wherewithal to know how amazing of a moment it would be. Like, it was all about, how can we make this mean the most.

Despite his embarrassment and reluctance, the segment aired and became one of the most talked-about heel moments in WWE history.

On the flip side, during the podcast, Stephanie just nodded, smiled, and sometimes spoke up kindly to help move the story along.

Despite all the previous controversy and news, they both remained calm and respectful as they looked back on the moment together.

They both remembered this as a powerful and unforgettable moment in WWE history.
