Ursinus Women’s Lacrosse has announced a key addition to its coaching team with the hiring of Rebecca Tomaszewski.

Head coach Rachel Howard-Franklin expressed her excitement about the new hire, praising Tomaszewski for her well-rounded background, competitive spirit, and athlete-focused approach to coaching.

She emphasized that Tomaszewski’s experience as a goalkeeper, along with her roles in recruiting and academic support, will bring significant value to the program.

Rebecca Tomaszewski’s Coaching Career Began At Ohio

Coach Tomaszewski joins Ursinus with a solid coaching résumé.

She previously served as head coach at American International College in Massachusetts and held assistant coaching roles at Millersville University and New England College in New Hampshire.

Her coaching career began at Louisville High School in Ohio.

A graduate of Walsh University, she earned All-America honors as a goalkeeper and was a four-year letter winner in both lacrosse and field hockey.

At Ursinus, Tomaszewski will focus on developing the team’s goalkeepers and serve as an assistant defensive coordinator.

In addition to her new role, she also coaches club lacrosse with ROAR, based in Reading, Pennsylvania.

As part of the coaching staff restructure, assistant coach Fran Knebels will now concentrate on the offensive side of the game, working closely with head coach Howard-Franklin.

With this update, the Bears’ coaching staff is now balanced with two coaches on offense and two on defense, including assistant coach Megan Dee.

Rebecca Tomaszewski’s Family Has Always Supported Her

Rebecca Tomaszewski comes from a supportive and accomplished family.

Her mother, Alicia Marie, is a Senior Manager for the IEEE Women In Engineering Program and previously worked with the IEEE Engineering in Medicine & Biology Society.

She is a graduate of Sayreville War Memorial High School.

On the other hand, her father, Rob Tomaszewski, is a former engineer and mechanic with IUOE Local 25’s marine division and studied auto mechanics at Lincoln Tech.

Moreover, Rebecca also has two siblings, sister Haley and brother Mitch Tomaszewski.

With her experience, leadership, and passion for the game, Rebecca Tomaszewski is expected to be a valuable asset to the Ursinus Women’s Lacrosse program as they head into the upcoming season.
