Former stock racing driver and current racing commentator Jeff Burton and his wife, Kim Burton, have kept their personal lives out of the public limelight. They are parents to two kids, and their son Harrison is now a NASCAR driver like his dad.
Jeff’s love for cars and racing was instilled in him by his father, John Burton.
John would take his two sons, Jeff and Ward, for go-kart racing, and later, they learned to drive late-model stock cars and late-models.
Jeff Burton began his professional racing career in 1988 with the Busch series.
He drove his father’s car number, 69, and competed in the full season for Busch Series Rookie of the Year in 1989.
Burton spent the 1994 Cup Series Rookie of the Year with Roush Fenway, where he experienced his most success. His first Cup win came at Texas Motor Speedway in 1997.
In the next five years, Burton won 17 times and finished in the top five in the standings four times.
In 1999, Jeff won a career-high six races, including the Coca-Cola 600 and Southern 500.
Before his retirement in 2014, Burton finished his career with 21 Cup wins and 27 Xfinity Series wins and became one of ten drivers to have at least 20 wins in each series.
Soon after, Burton began his broadcasting career with NBC Sports as an analyst, covering the NASCAR Cup and Xfinity Series.
Jeff Burton and His Wife, Kim Burton Are High School Sweethearts!
Racing commentator Jeff Burton met his wife, Kim Burton, when she was 14, and they grew up together.
The couple tied the knot in 1992 and have since remained in a formidable partnership.
Previously, a Bleacher Report article mentioned that Kim co-owns Pro Sports Marketing and Management in North Carolina with George Harris.
At first, Harris had asked Jeff to be part of the project, but after Jeff didn’t show any interest, Kim joined forces with Harris.
Despite being active on Instagram, Jeff doesn’t share much about his personal life. He mostly shares pictures from the race day and that of him holding his precious microphone.

Previously, Jeff took to his Twitter to wish Kim on their anniversary in 2023. In the post, he shared a picture of when he won the NASCAR Sprint Cup Bank of American 500 race at Lowe’s Motor Speedway.
Unlike her husband, Kim isn’t active on Instagram but occasionally shares posts on her Twitter account.
Kim gives her thoughts on NASCAR races and appreciates Jeff’s fans for their drawings of him via her tweets.
When asked for advice for a successful marriage, Kim said:
Kim was interviewed on the sidelines after her son Harrison’s first Cup Series victory. The proud mom said she had believed in her son since he was four.

Jeff and Kim’s youngest child, Harrison Burton, 24, competes full-time in the NASCAR Xfinity Series.
In 2019, it was announced that Harrison would drive for Joe Gibbs Racing at Xfinity Series.
Harrison won his first Xfinity Series at Auto Club Speedway on February 29, 2020. This made Burton the first driver born in the 2000s to win the Xfinity Series.

After a few months, Harisson switched to Wood Brothers Racing, driving their No.21 Ford Mustang for the 2022 season.
Harrison’s 2022 and 2023 seasons weren’t memorable. He finished 31st in the final standings in the 2023 season.
In August 2024, Harrison scored his first Cup Series victory, and to make it more special, Jeff was in the booth calling the race for NASCAR on NBC.
In an interview with the NASCAR website, Harrison said it felt special sharing the moment with his father.
Harrison said his father has always been blunt and tells it the way it is, and that is not him saying Jeff is mean. He added Jeff is a loving dad and is always realistic about situations.
Jeff and Kim are also parents to a daughter named Paige Burton, who has previously participated in several equestrian competitions.
