Lynn Norenberg Barry, the wife of NBA Hall of Famer Rick Barry, also has an athletic background. She is a multi-sport athlete, excelling in basketball, tennis, track, and softball.

Reports suggest that the lady was born in St. Petersburg, Florida, Lynn was a standout athlete from a young age.

Rick’s wife played for Lakewood High School and later became the most decorated player in the history of William & Mary.

There she scored 1,500 points and the College of William & Mary even had her jersey retired in 2002.

Professionally, Lynn has had an impressive career in sports administration. After master’s, she served as an assistant executive director for USA Women’s Basketball for twelve years.

She has even worked as an adviser for the Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA). Lynn Norenberg’s contributions to the sport have been significant.

Speaking about their love journey, began in 1986 during the Goodwill Games in Moscow. Rick was working as a sports commentator and had divorced his first wife 5 years back.

Despite an age difference of 15 years and Rick’s complicated past, including a contentious divorce and five children, they fell in love.

Their common interest in basketball and tennis set the grounds for their engagement and they eventually began dating.

The couple exchanged vows on August 31, 1991, and in 2024, they were successfully married for almost 34 years.

From their union, they share a son, Canyon Barry, who has followed in his dad’s footsteps. He last played for the Iowa Wolves of the NBA G League.

Today, Lynn and Rick reside in Colorado Springs, Colorado. They play golf together and Rick often shares glimpses of their lives on Instagram.

He married Pam Hale shortly after being drafted by the San Francisco Warriors.

Pam was the daughter of Bruce Hale, the basketball legend Rick’s college coach at the University of Miami. 

The couple had a family that included four sons: Scooter, Jon, Drew, and Brent Barry. Almost all of them pursued professional basketball careers.

Their relationship initially seemed promising, but it soon became complicated as his career progressed.

The tension in personal life further intensified after his transition from the NBA to the ABA. He was embroiled in legal disputes and financial disagreements, adding stress to his home life.

By 1979, after years of mounting tension, Barry and Pam filed for divorce and ultimately split in 1981.

The basketball Hall of Famer moved on with the second wife in 1986. However, Rick Barry’s feud with his ex-wife and family didn’t stop there.
