Lexi Rodriguez, a rising star and libero for LOVB Omaha, is recognized for her exceptional skills on the court. Behind her success are her dedicated parents, Chris and Crystal Rodriguez, whose support has played a pivotal role in her journey.

Lexi Rodriguez is a professional volleyball libero for LOVB Omaha, joining the team ahead of its inaugural 2025 season.

She played college volleyball for the Nebraska Cornhuskers, setting the program’s career digs record with 1,897 digs.

Rodriguez was named an AVCA All-American four times and earned Big Ten Defensive Player or Libero of the Year honors three times.

She helped Nebraska reach the national championship game in 2021 and 2023, and the team secured a Big Ten title in 2023.

A standout at Sterling High School, Rodriguez led her team to two Illinois state titles and was named the Illinois Gatorade Player of the Year.

She also represented the U.S. youth national team, winning the 2019 FIVB Volleyball Girls’ U18 World Championship.

Lexi Rodriguez’s Parents Attended Nearly Every Game She Played During Her Four Years with the Huskers!!

Lexi Rodriguez’s parents, Crystal and Chris Rodriguez, have been pivotal in her volleyball career, providing constant support throughout her journey.

Although based in Sterling, Illinois, far from the University of Nebraska, they have attended nearly every game Lexi played during her four years with the Huskers.

Their dedication to supporting her has remained strong despite the long distance.

The Rodriguez family sold their car after accumulating over 200,000 miles on it from constant travel to games.

Crystal’s commitment was so strong that she stayed home during a surprising loss to SMU early in Lexi’s career.

Meanwhile, Lexi’s grandparents made the 1,800-mile round trip to attend the match.

This led to a lighthearted superstition among fans, with some jokingly blaming Crystal for the defeat.

Despite the playful banter, Lexi never shared the blame and always expressed gratitude for her parents’ sacrifices.

She acknowledged their hard work and support throughout her career, especially expressing gratitude to her parents with a heartfelt caption on Instagram.

On June 19, 2017, Lexi shared a heartfelt post on Instagram, celebrating her National Championship victory, calling it a perfect Father’s Day present.

She captioned,

“I think being a National Champion is a pretty good Father’s Day present🏆🥇😭🎉Thank you to everyone who cheered and supported us to win it was a great experience❤️💙”

Crystal, in particular, has been vocal about Lexi’s growth as both a player and a person.

She proudly shares how her daughter has redefined the libero position, making it a more respected role in volleyball.

Crystal’s insights highlight her deep understanding of the challenges Lexi faced, from being overlooked as a recruit due to her height.

She witnessed Lexi’s transformation into a four-time AVCA All-American and a key contributor to Nebraska’s national success.

Lexi herself has expressed her appreciation for her parents’ efforts, thanking them for the time, money, and energy they devoted to her volleyball career.

Their support has been foundational in her rise to stardom, and their dedication remains a significant part of her success story.
