Born on June 9, 2002, Lamont Butler Jr. is an American college basketball player for the Kentucky Wildcats of the SEC.
Butler Jr. made headlines after he sent San Diego State Aztecs (SDSU) to the NCAA Basketball FINALS in 2023.

The point guard, Lamont Butler, was born to parents Carmicha and Lamont Butler Sr. He grew up in Moreno Valley, California, with his three siblings, Anaiqua, Amani, and Asasha.
Butler Jr. spent his childhood playing basketball with his sisters. One of his sisters, Amani, went on to play college basketball at Arizona and Seattle University.

Sadly, one of his sisters, Asasha Hall, passed away on January 25, 2022, due to a domestic dispute.
Once, he mentioned how much he misses her and feels her presence during his game, stating:
“I think about her every day. Ever since she passed. She was one of my biggest supporters, and I know she’s up there happy right now, watching me play the game that I love. And I think she was with me with that shot. She probably guided the ball in a little bit. I miss her, and I’m just happy I’m able to do this for her.”
