A settlement involved the transfer of RJ’s approximately 4 million shares and 6 million stock options in Rivian to Meagan on July 9.
Thus far, the specific reasons behind their failed marriage remain unknown as both of them maintain a low profile.
At today’s stock price, the shares and stock options RJ gave Meagan are worth around $130 million. However, that number could fluctuate based on Rivian’s stock performance and the price at which the options can be exercised.
Because of this transfer, RJ now has less influence at Rivian. His voting power dropped from 7.6% to about 4%, which is the lowest it’s been since the company went public in 2021.
However, Rivian spokesperson stated that the divorce and the resulting change in ownership would not affect the company’s operations.
Despite divorce, RJ and Meagan have a plan to co-parent their three children following their divorce, which speaks volumes about their commitment to work together to raise their kids.
