Hockey Legend Rob Ray Hit By A Puck Twice While Broadcasting!

In December 2023, Rob Ray experienced his first puck-related incident while broadcasting.

Ray was struck in the face by a puck during a Buffalo Sabres game against the Arizona Coyotes.

The incident occurred near the end of the first period when a Coyotes player attempted to clear the puck, which accidentally hit Ray. He was standing just outside the rink.

Likewise, on February 22, 2025, he was again hit in the face by a puck during a Buffalo Sabres game against the New York Rangers.

The incident left him with a nasty gash near his nose and left eye, and he even let out an expletive on live TV due to the pain.

Despite the injury, Ray returned to the commentary booth after receiving a few stitches.

In a light-hearted gesture, the Carolina Hurricanes gifted Ray bubble wrap when he returned to action, poking fun at the incident.

Ray has since moved his broadcast spot to a safer location in the arena to avoid future mishaps.
