Rogers Youth Hockey Head Coach Mike Betker Leaves Behind His Wife Laura And Two Sons

Michael ‘Mike’ Betker, the head coach of the Rogers Youth Hockey Association, recently passed away, leaving his family and loved ones devastated.

According to the reports, the youth hockey head coach, Mike Bekter, died unexpectedly early in March 2025.

Details about the date and cause of his sudden death are not yet available.

Moreover, the Rogers, Minnesota community mourns the sudden death of their beloved coach, Mike Betker.

Mike was an amazing human being known for his exceptional coaching skills and kind nature.

He was always committed to supporting the young athletes in the community.

During this difficult time, family and friends send heartfelt condolences to Betker’s loved ones.

Similarly, Katie, the Rogers Squirt B2 Blue team manager, who Mike Bekter coached, has organized a GoFundMe campaign to support his family.

The manager of the Rogers Squirt team on the GoFundMe writes,

“Mike was the best dad to his two young boys, he was the best coach to all of those lucky enough to be on his teams throughout the years.”

Katie further added that Mike was an integral part of the RYHA community, coaching both of his sons’ hockey teams.

Mike Betker was the head coach of the Squirt traveling team and his youngest son’s Mite C Sabres team.

Likewise, Mike loved to coach, loved hockey, and treated every kid on his team like one of his own. He will be deeply missed throughout the RYHA community.

She concluded by saying that through the GoFundMe, Katie and the whole Rogers community would love to be able to help Betker’s wife and his two sons out financially during this extremely difficult time.

The fundraiser aims to raise $25,000 and has received 157 donations so far, totaling $16,415, which is 66% of the goal, just one day after its launch.

Mike Betker is survived by his longtime wife, Laura, two sons, Sully and Rowan, and the entire family.

Mike Betker’s Wife Laura Betker Continues Her Career In Hospice Care!

Like the late hockey coach Mike Betker, his longtime wife Laura Betker is known for her kind and caring nature.

She has contributed to her community by working as a caregiver for years.

Laura Betker, who earned her Master of Social Work degree from Boise State University, began her career as a social worker.

Moreover, Laura served as a school social worker for Renville County West School District for almost 10 years from 2007 to 2017.

She worked part-time as a school social worker for ISD for nearly a year before becoming the BCBS MSHO/MSC and care coordinator at Lutheran Social Service of Minnesota in 2018.

Likewise, after two and a half years of serving as a care coordinator, Laura joined her recent company, Triniti Home Health & Hospice, in 2020.

She worked as the Hospice social work manager and bereavement coordinator for over three years before becoming the Hospice Director in July 2024.

Laura, a dedicated caregiver, lovingly raised her two children with her late husband, Mike Betker.

Although Mike Betker was not very active on social media, his wife Laura frequently shared glimpses of their happy and adventurous life, expressing her love for the family.
