Mrs. Pelt also runs a 2023 Big Sur International Marathon & 11-Miler fundraiser to aid in brain cancer research.

Their eldest child, Lila Catherine, was born in 2012, and the father-daughter share a strong bond.
On the special edition of “The Scoot Van Pelt’s One Big Thing: A Dad’s Love For His Daughter,” the TV host shares his experience of raising Lila.
The Pelt couple welcomed their second child, Sam Van Pelt, on February 18, 2016, followed by their third child, Charlie Van Pelt, on August 28, 2017.
Moreover, Sam was named after his late grandfather, who passed away in 1988.

After Suzy Kolber was let go as part of ESPN’s layoffs in June 2023, Scott will take Suzy’s place on the new Monday Night Countdown.
As per ESPN’s official announcement, Pelt will be joined by Marcus Spears, Ryan Clark, and Robert Griffin III.
Laura Rutledge was also a possible candidate for the job, but Van Pelt had the upper hand from ESPN management.
Although Rutledge missed her shot on the Monday Night Countdown, she would host its daily program “NFL Live and its SEC Nation pregame.
