On April 19, 2021, Karen McCollum lost her only child, Antron Jerrod Pippen, whom she had from her relationship with Scottie Pippen.
Like his father, Scottie, Antron was a basketball player who played for South Georgia Technical College and Texas A&M International. He was trying to bloom individually with his dedication to his sports, but sadly, he couldn’t survive due to Chronic asthma.

I’m heartbroken to share that yesterday, I said goodbye to my firstborn son Antron. Antron suffered from chronic asthma and if he hadn’t had it, I truly believe he would’ve made it to the NBA.

On Antron’s third d*ath anniversary, Karen again remembered her beloved son writing his passing still hurts her.
