Sean Payton is a football player turned coach who serves as head coach of the Broncos in the NFL.

As the head coach of the New Orleans Saints from 2006 to 2021, Sean had the best tenure. He led the team to its first Super Bowl victory during the 2009 season.

His coaching career began in 1988 as an offensive assistant at San Diego State University. He later achieved great feats, even with big NFL teams.

However, when his personal life entered the competition, even his larger-than-life coaching feats faced sidelining.

Sean Payton Knew His Academically Pro-turned-Model Wife, Skylene Montgomery, Since His Divorce From Beth in 2014!

Sean Payton married Skylene Montgomery in 2021 after seven years of divorce from his first wife, Beth Shuey.

Reports suggest that Skylene is a multifaceted individual with a background in nursing and beauty pageantry.

Sean Payton first met Skylene in 2014 at an NFL game between the Saints and the Panthers.

At that time, she was working as a nurse in North Carolina. The lady had sought tickets to the game through a friend, after which she landed with Sean.

Her friend inadvertently provided her with the head coach’s contact number. The connection led to an initial meeting during the pre-game ceremony.

All these events between their crossing paths to meeting occurred shortly after Payton finalized his divorce from Beth Shuey.

The couple began dating and have been enjoying a lengthy courtship that lasted several years since their meeting in 2014.

On November 8, 2019, during Skylene’s birthday celebration, Payton went on his knees to propose to her in front of family and friends.

The proposal was memorable due to a performance of “Johnny and June” by country singer Heidi Newfield.

Following the proposal, Sean and Skylene Montgomery tied the knot on June 18, 2021, in a private ceremony at One&Only Palmilla.

Avery Johnson, a close friend of Payton’s and former NBA player, officiated the wedding.

The couple had initially planned to marry in March 2021 but postponed their wedding due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Hailing from Parkersburg, West Virginia, Skylene Montgomery attended Parkersburg South High School before pursuing higher education at Marshall University.

Further, speaking of her academic attributes, she holds a degree in exercise physiology.

Moreover, Skylene has earned a nursing degree since 2009. Despite all the academics, she ventured into beauty pageants.

She went on to win the Miss West Virginia title in 2007 and competed in the Miss USA pageant in 2008.
