Sepp Kuss, born on September 13, 1994, is a professional cyclist from Durango, Colorado, currently riding for UCI World Team Jumbo-Visma.

The cyclist started his career as a junior student at the University of Colorado Boulder, winning three Collegiate Championships in Cross-country cycling (XC).

The athlete won his first grand tour stage in stage 15 of the 2019 Vuelta a España by supporting his team leader, Primož Roglič.

In July 2021, Kuss won stage 15 of the Tour de France, becoming the first American since Tyler Farrar to win a stage of the Tour de France.

Kuss became the first cyclist to ride all three Grand Tours – the 2023 Giro d’Italia, 2023 Tour de France, and 2023 Vuelta a España, in a single season and win one since Gastone Nencini in 1957.

Dolph and Sabina are the loving parents of Sepp Kuss. His father is a former ski coach. Meanwhile, his mother was also reportedly a skier and has been teaching at The Nordic Center in Durango.

The former coach is well-known in Durango, especially for his contribution to co-founding Outdoor Pursuits. The institution teaches the students of Fort Lewis College about environmental awareness, personality development, and community building.

The retired coach also led the Raiders from 1965 through 1976, where several of his skiers earned the NCAA championships and All-America Honors.

In 1968, his team reached third in the NCAA Division, making it the college’s top national finish.

However, Dolph is best known as the Nordic Ski coach for the US Ski team. He coached the American cross-country skiers at the 1964 Olympics in Austria and the American Nordic combined skiers at the 1972 Olympics in Sapporo.

The former coach has won many accolades, including The Halsted Trophy and the Russel Wilder Trophy, for his tremendous contributions to junior skiing.

He was later honored as a member of the Colorado Ski Hall of Fame in 1990.

While much has been published about the cyclist’s father, little is known about his mother. Nevertheless, she has been a vocal supporter of her son throughout his career.

She also had a significant role in inspiring the 29-year-old to join the world of cycling with her multiple top finishes at the Iron Horse Bicycle Classic.
