Tamia Hill, the wife of NFL star Grant Hill, is currently traveling with American R&B artist Joe Thomas for their Spring 2024 tour.

Grant Henry Hill was born in Dallas, Texas, on October 5, 1972. Raised in Washington, D.C., Hill is an American professional basketball executive and former player.

He is the co-owner of the Atlanta Hawks of the NBA and a part-owner of the Orlando City SC of the MLS and Orlando Pride of the NWSL.

The Virginia Mr. Basketball received the Golden Plate Award from the American Academy of Achievement in 1999.

Moreover, he is an advocate for the awareness and prevention of MRSA, appearing in public service announcements for Stop MRSA Now!, a non-profit organization.

Grant Hill Met His Wife, Tamia Hills, Through A Blind Date!

Tamia Marilyn Washington Hill is the beloved wife of seven-time NBA All-Star player Grant Hill.

The couple met through a blind date set up by singer Anita Baker. Following their first meeting, Tamia and Grant started dating.

Within one year of dating, the couple attended the Tommy Hilfiger party in 1997.

Then, they appeared on the red carpet debut in 1997 at the world premiere of Speed 2- Cruise Control. After three years of dating, they tied the knot on July 24, 1999.

The couple shared their wedding memories with PEOPLE:

We have so many meaningful memories from our wedding day that stand out. But what we both still laugh about is that we didn’t get a chance to eat any of the food from the reception. After we made our way around to thank everyone for attending during the dinner, we never made it back to our seats. By then, we were called to the dance floor for our first dance.”

I don’t think we realized we hadn’t eaten until we got in the limo after the reception to drive two hours from Battle Creek to Detroit because we had an early flight out the next morning for our honeymoon. That’s when we stopped at a 7-Eleven on the way for chili cheese dogs and Slurpees!”

The pair has built a beautiful family and are parents to two daughters, Myla Grace and Lael Rose.

Grant and Tamia Hill had their first daughter, Myla, in 2002 and their second, Lael Rose, in 2007.

Despite their busy schedules, they prioritize spending quality time with their daughters.

The couple has created a nurturing environment centered on love, athletics, and music, where their two daughters can flourish and become successful individuals.

Their mutual love of sports has helped strengthen their bond. They are also business partners, co-owning Orlando City Soccer Club and the Orlando Pride, a National Women’s Soccer League franchise.

The couple, known for their deep love and regard for one other, owe their successful marriage to effective communication, humor, and similar beliefs.

However, their marriage hasn’t been without challenges. In 2003, both Grant and Tamie subsequently suffered from fatal illnesses.

While the NBA player was battling a deadly MRSA infection on his wounded ankle, his wife was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis.

Nonetheless, the pair recovered quickly because of their strong teamwork, love, and continuous support for each other.

Therefore, Grant and Tamia are an admired duo in both the sports and entertainment worlds.
