“He was a light that shone brightly in our lives”: Parents Tristan and Kelsey White Mourn 17-Year-Old Millard North Football Star Sevyn Bellar-White, Killed at a Halloween Party in South Omaha

Sevyn Bellar-White, an Omaha, Nebraska native and Millard North High School student-athlete, passed away on Friday, October 31, 2025, at an untimely age of 17, leaving his parents and loved ones devastated.

According to the Omaha Police Department, Sevyn was shot and killed at a Halloween house party near 36th and Polk streets in Omaha.

While the details of the tragic incident have not been disclosed, Omaha police said the investigation remains open, and they are asking anyone with information to contact the Homicide Unit or Crime Stoppers at 402-444-Stop.

Furthermore, the untimely death of Sevyn White has left a profound void in the lives of his parents, family, and loved ones.

Sevyn Bellar-White touched the lives of many with his outstanding athletic skills and his kind nature. He was a cherished member of the Millard North High School boys’ varsity football team.

Many of his loved ones are paying tribute to the late Sevyn Bellar-White and extending their heartfelt condolences to his family during this difficult time.

In addition to being an amazing athlete, Sevyn Bellar-White was a great son of Tristan and Kelsey White. He was also a loving brother to his two younger sisters, Ariya and Zoey.

While Sevyn’s family declined to appear on camera and asked for privacy while grieving their beloved son, his father, Tristan White, took to social media to pay tribute to him.

The post reads:

“Sevyn was not only my son; he was my best friend, my Robin to my Batman, a soul who brought endless light into our world.Sevyn’s spirit was pure and genuine. He cared deeply for family, for friends, for everyone he met. He loved lacrosse, football, Anime, Gaming and planned of studying construction management in college. He was a light that shone brightly in our lives, and his love for those around him was boundless.”

The family also expressed their gratitude to the people who have reached out with kindness and support during this tragic moment and requested that loved ones share memories or stories of the late Sevyn.

Similarly, the White family has also organized a funeral and memorial services for the late Sevyn Bellar-White. The Wake and Viewing service will be held on Monday, November 10, at 5 PM at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church.

The Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 11, at 10:30 am at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church.

Talking about Sevyn White’s parents, Tristan and Kelsey, they are both excelling in their respective careers.

His father, Tristan White, has been serving as Senior National Account Manager at LRS Healthcare since 2019. Prior to that, he served as finance manager at Baxter Auto for nearly six years.

Tristan also served as a business sales representative at Yahoo for over two years and as an Internet Sales Manager at Rusty Eck Ford.

Sevyn’s father, Tristan, graduated from Glendale Community College and earned his degree in Sociology at the University of Nebraska Omaha, and is an alumnus of Fitch Senior High School.

Likewise, Sevyn’s mother, Kelsey White, has been serving as a nurse practitioner at Nebraska Medicine since 2022. Prior to that, she served as a Staff Nurse.

She also served as a care coordinator at the Visiting Nurse Association of the Midlands for over three years, as an RN at CHI Health, and as a Media Consultant at Cox Media.

Initially, Kelsey aimed to pursue her career in Journalism and earn her Bachelor’s degree in Journalism from the University of Nebraska at Omaha in 2013.

Furthermore, she worked with the local NBC affiliate television station. WOWT, in Omaha, Nebraska, as a media sales and account executive for over a year before earning her B.S. in registered nursing at Nebraska Methodist College in 2018.

She also earned her Master of Nursing, FNP from Chamberlain University in 2021.
