Chris Hoy heartbreakingly revealed his cancer battle in an emotional Instagram post on February 17, 2024.
Further, Sir Hoy shared that he had been undergoing chemotherapy, which had been progressing well and showed his positive outlook towards recovery.
The Olympian also expressed his enthusiasm about returning to good health and shared his eagerness for the upcoming Paris Olympics.
However, after eight months of announcing his cancer and improvements, Chris has revealed that he has terminal cancer.
In an interview with the Sunday Times, the 11-time world champion confessed that he had two to four years left to live after his cancer diagnosis.
Additionally, he also revealed that his wife, Sarra, was also diagnosed with an incurable disease just a week before his diagnosis.
Sarra had undergone multiple scans that showed that she had multiple sclerosis, which is a degenerative disease.
During the interview, Chris shared his feelings about the devastating news that both he and his wife had incurable conditions, saying:
As unnatural as it feels, this is nature, You know, we were all born and we all die, and this is just part of the process
The couple has not shared with their children about their mother’s condition, though they know about their father’s incurable condition.

Additionally, Sarra is a passionate public speaker who raises awareness of preterm birth and neonatal care in the UK.
She is also the ambassador of Bliss Charity, a nonprofit organization that helps premature babies in the UK.
Much of her professional work has been related to premature children, as she experienced it with her own children.
