Son Targeted After Sitting Next to PE Teacher’s Daughter at Susan Middle School, Calls on USD 383 for Action

Silence only protect the problem, not the children

At Susan Middle School, Brittany Fielder’s 12‑year‑old son was removed from a school play after sitting next to a P.E. teacher’s daughter, who said she felt “uncomfortable”, simply because he was sitting beside her.

Instead of allowing the girl to move, the school staff reprimanded and removed Brittany’s son.

This left him in tears, especially since he already struggles with feeling excluded by some of his peers.

Brittany Fielder shared her story on Facebook, calling out Manhattan‑Ogden USD 383.

She wrote about the repeated problems her family has faced, both with her older son (21), years ago, and now with her younger one, who is currently in 6th grade.

Brittany explained that this is not the first time her son has been bullied, told to hurt himself, and involved in confrontations serious enough to file a police report.

She believes the school shows bias and wants the district to take action to protect her child.

Moreover, she asked the district to set up a meeting with school leaders and parents, saying she will act on her own if nothing is done.

She ended her post firmly:

I WILL NOT BE QUIET, STOP ALLOWING BULLYING, DO NOT TARGET MINE…

Later, she updated that she has a meeting scheduled for December 1, 2025, with the AMS principal and assistant principal.

Her post drew many responses from the community members.

One person shared their point of view and highlighted their anger, urging legal action, saying,

Just because your child is not white it does not mean he is less than others! In this day and age it shouldn’t matter the color of a person’s skin. I could see the bullying because of race is the 60’s and 70’s but come on people! He’s a kid like everyone else. Bullying is getting out of hand! No matter what color your skin is remember this, God created you to be different than everyone else. Oh by the way, I’m white and picking on kids different than you is ugly! Parents, if you have to check into private schooling, but speak up loud and clear! Your child doesn’t need to go through this. If you have to, get a lawyer and clean that school out! Don’t wait on the district to fix it. It takes you to start the clean up! I had to put a stop to bullying when my child was young and I didn’t mince words! Like I said before, I’m white but the color of one’s skin shouldn’t matter. Go after that school and stop the nonsense before something serious happens to your child. God Bless!

Likewise, another parent related their own experience, writing,

My daughter is currently facing a situation at the same school! A former “friend” is spreading a terrible rumor about my daughter and the school has yet to call me back! They are very aware of previous situations with the same girl. During a ceremony on Tuesday the girls sister confronted me in an aggressive manner and then the family waited outside for me yelling terrible things about me and my daughter.

I am sorry your son is facing terrible times, but maybe this is an awareness issue that we need to address with the district.

All the comments and reactions show a clear pattern of support, frustration, and shared experiences from the community.

People are not only standing with Brittany Fielder but also highlighting broader issues of bias, bullying, and lack of accountability at the school.
