Sophie Diana Schmidt is a Canadian professional soccer player who plays as a midfielder for National Women’s Soccer League club Houston Dash and the Canadian National Team.
Her parents, Elmer and Cornelia Schmidt immigrated from Paraguay to Canada before Sophie was born.
In her youth career, she played for Abbotsford Rush, Vancouver Whitecaps, and Surrey United SC. Later, she joined Portland Pilots while studying at the University of Portland.
Then, she began her senior career playing with teams like Vancouver Whitecaps, MagicJack, Kristianstads DFF, Sky Blue FC, and FFC Frankfurt. Sophie has been playing soccer with Houston Dash since 2019.
Sophie is representing her home country in the ongoing FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023.
Sadly, this will be her last appearance for the World Cup, as she announced in February 2023 that she would retire after this big tournament.

He is also a member of Equity New Zealand and co-founder of Houston Blues, a fan page of the soccer club Chelsea.
Apart from acting and singing, he seems to have a knack for landscape photography which can be seen through collections of images on his Instagram handle, @nickylekiwi.
Sophie and her husband dated for a long time. Their relationship advanced to another level when Nic proposed to Sophie on September 13, 2017, in Prague during their vacation.

They travel together to different places vacationing, hiking, and road-tripping with their dogs like a small happy family.
