Kody J. Steivang, a graduate of Chippewa Falls Middle School, has passed away at the age of 17.
He was born on August 23, 2008, to his father, Travis, and his mother, Kelly Steivang.
He kept his parents on their toes with his endless interests and sense of adventure.
Steivang loved sports, both playing and cheering on his favorite teams, the Badgers, Green Bay Packers, Milwaukee Brewers, and, for an unfortunate stretch, according to his Packer-loving family, the Seattle Seahawks.
Growing up, he played soccer, karate, baseball, wrestling, and football before focusing in high school on his wrestling, weightlifting, and two memorable years of pole vaulting alongside his sister, Kendall.
He attended Southview Elementary and Chippewa Falls Middle School. In high school, he found a deep love for wrestling.
This past season, his teammates honored him with the “Team Award,” recognizing his selflessness and willingness to always put the team first.
He loved his wrestling family and coaches and took great pride in being a Chippewa Falls Cardinal.
