Throughout his highs and lows, Bill Simmons has had the steady support of his parents, even as he rose to become a prominent podcaster, sportswriter, and founder of The Ringer.

Bill Simmons was born William John Simmons III on September 25, 1969, in Marlborough, Massachusetts, United States, to parents William Simmons and Jan Corbo.

When Bill Simmons was in eighth grade, his parents, William Simmons and Jan Corbo, separated, but they continued to share responsibility in raising their only child.

Furthermore, Bill Simmons spent his childhood juggling life between his father, William Simmons, in Boston, Massachusetts, and his mother, Jan Corbo, in Stamford, Connecticut.

Bill Simmons moved from Boston to Stamford with his mother, Jan Corbo, who worked at the Greenwich Avenue Lux Bond and Green. He started ninth grade at Greenwich Country Day School.

Similarly, Bill Simmons often took the train from Stamford to visit his father, William, in Boston every other weekend and watched several basketball games with him.

Despite their separation, William Simmons and Jan Corbo remain his constant supporters.

Bill Simmons also often expresses his love for his parents on his social media.

In addition to his parents, Bill Simmons also loves his stepmother, Molly Clark, a doctor at Newton-Wellesley Hospital who has been with his father for decades, loving and supporting him.

He further served as Easton School’s director of special services for 12 years from 1976 to 1988, before becoming the assistant superintendent for the next five years.

Eight years of part-time schooling at Northeastern University and full-time work later, William Simmons also received his PhD while still focusing on his career.

Similarly, William Simmons served as Easton’s superintendent for the past 15 years before his retirement.

He later stated that he decided to retire from his career to spend more time with his son Bill Simmons, daughter-in-law Kari, and grandchildren Zoe and Ben, who lived in California.

Bill Simmons’ Mother, Jan Corbo, Spent Over Two Decades Of Her Career Serving As Sales Manager

Like Bill Simmons’ father, William, his mother, Jan Corbo, also excelled in her two-decade-long career.

She further became the store manager of Lux Bond and Green Jewelers in Greenwich, CT, where she served from 1992 to 2012, before becoming the sales associate of Gearys Beverly Hills in North Beverly Drive, Beverly Hills, CA.
