The incident occurred just before the scheduled tipoff at 7 p.m.CT on Monday, Feb 3, 2025.
Mike Miller, a sports agent, was sitting near the fan when he collapsed during the game.
He noticed something was wrong and immediately called for authorities to provide medical assistance.
Emergency medical responders quickly attended to the fan on the court and administered CPR.
During that time, the Grizzlies players huddled together and said a prayer for the fans.
Then, they took him away on a stretcher to a nearby hospital after around seven minutes for further treatment.

Both teams were returned to their locker rooms while the situation was handled. The game eventually started around 7:50 p.m. CT after a roughly 45-50 minute delay.
After the incident, Miller expressed his concern, saying,
It was awful. He was sitting talking to people, then the national anthem happened, and he didn’t get up.
