While Jeff Wuerl has not released any statement regarding his dismissal from coaching at St. Francis High School, many of his students remain in shock following his arrest for alleged sexual assault.
Charlie Kuhn, a sophomore at St. Francis High School, shared her thoughts following the arrest of junior varsity baseball coach Jeff Wuerl.
Kuhn, who plays in the Wilson Premier Youth Baseball League, said she knew of Wuerl through that organization but didn’t know him personally.
She said,
“We weren’t really told anything about why or what really happened,”
“I didn’t really know the guy well, but it’s kind of shocking considering that a high school baseball coach was just, like, arrested,” she recalled how her mother had sent her a screenshot of the school’s email announcing the situation, asking if she knew who the JV coach was.
“He’s talked to me a few times from baseball and stuff and was like, ‘that was a great hit,’ or whatever,” Kuhn added, reflecting on the unsettling news.
