Jayden Cook, a Staley High School football player, got into a terrible car accident just after leaving a game near Excelsior Springs, Missouri.
The 17-year-old junior suffered severe injuries across his body, including damage to his vertebrae. Now, he remains in intensive care, facing a long and grueling recovery.
The crash happened as Jayden and his friends were driving away from the Staley Falcons’ game. According to family members, another vehicle slammed into the vehicle in a direct collision, which caused the heartwrenching damage.

Susan Cook, Jayden’s grandmother, put out a call for prayers on social media.
On behalf of his grandmother, Matt Bradley urged friends and neighbours to pray for them, writing:
The situation has been very serious, and a lot has happened since then, but right now, more than ever, he needs our prayers,” she said. “His recovery is going to be a long and difficult road, and the family could really use strength, healing, and support from all of us.

Sarah Cook, Jayden’s aunt, started a GoFundMe to help with the costs and shared the heartbreaking news, writing:
My nephew Jaden was in a serious car accident on Friday October 3rd as they were leaving the HS football game. He is currently in the ICU with a long recovery ahead.

“We love him so very much and are asking for any help to cover medical costs or accommodations the family needs to make to their home,” Sarah asked.
She continued that Jayden isn’t just a star on the football field, but he is someone who brings joy to everyone who knows him.
Sarah wrote, “I have always described him as an absolutely perfect kid as he brings us so much joy. He is kind-hearted, funny and just the light of our lives.”
