Stefon Diggs, the NFL wide receiver known for his explosive plays and unmatched work ethic, attributes much of his success to the support and guidance of his parents, Aron and Stephanie Diggs.
From early childhood football drills to balancing academics and athletics, the values instilled by his parents shaped him into the man he is today.
Stefon Diggs Calls His Mother, Stephanie Diggs, His “Superwoman”
Stephanie Diggs, Stefon’s mother, worked tirelessly for over three decades with “Amtrak” while also holding additional jobs at “Target” and “Toys R Us” to support her family.
After the death of her husband, Aron, in 2008, she became the sole provider and emotional pillar for her children.
Stefon often refers to her as “Superwoman,” crediting her not only for his upbringing but also for helping him navigate major life decisions, such as college recruitment.
She emphasized the importance of education and character alongside athletics.
Stefon shares praise for her,
“She genuinely wanted what was best for me.”
To express his gratitude, Stefon gifted his mother an SUV in 2018 during Christmas, a heartfelt token of appreciation for the sacrifices she made.
Now retired, Stephanie enjoys traveling across the country to watch her sons play, including Trevon Diggs, who plays for the Dallas Cowboys.
His Dad, Aron Diggs, Was The Man Who Introduced Stefon To Football
Stefon’s father, Aron Diggs, played a crucial role in shaping the football careers of his sons.
Though his own passion was basketball, Aron was the first to introduce Stefon and his younger brother Trevon to football at just 5 years old.

He coached them personally, demanding daily discipline with 200 push-ups, sit-ups, and intense drills.
Despite his declining health due to congestive heart failure, Aron continued to coach from the sidelines and stayed engaged in his sons’ development.
Sadly, he passed away in 2008 at the age of 39 while awaiting a heart transplant. Stefon was just 14 at the time.
Before his death, Aron left Stefon with a life-defining message:
“Look after your brothers. Look after your mom. Look after your family.”
That final conversation would become Stefon’s lifelong motivation to push forward and honor his father’s legacy.
After The Death Of His Father, Stefon Became The Man Of The House
After Aron’s passing, Stephanie told Stefon he needed to step up, and he did.
He became a father figure to his younger brothers, especially Trevon, who was only 9 at the time.
Stefon not only helped raise them but also remained committed to excelling on and off the field, always keeping his father’s advice in mind.
To this day, Stefon says every play he makes is in memory of his dad.
He said in an interview,
“He’s on my mind every snap I take. Hopefully, he’s looking down and he’s happy.”
Both Stephanie and Aron played instrumental roles in shaping Stefon’s life and values.
Even now, Stefon continues to pay tribute to both parents through his words and actions.
He once tweeted,
“Not many know what it’s like to lose their daddy for real. I had to make myself a man. But it takes a village—so be sure to always pay it forward.”
