Stéphane Diagana Parents: Who Are Lassana And Yvette?

Track and field legend Stéphane Diagana was born to father Lassana Diagana and mother Yvette Diagana on July 23, 1969, in Aveyron, Saint-Affrique. His father is of Senegalese origin, and his mother is of French origin.

Lassana used to work in IT as an information systems technician for banks. Similarly, Yvette was a teacher.

Stéphane’s parents prioritized studies. However, since Stéphane achieved good academic results, his parents allowed him to pursue sports without interference.

Even though Stéphane is very popular, his parents have chosen to remain away from the media limelight. Therefore, very little is known about them.

Married Life: Wife And Children

Stéphane Diagana is married to Odile Lesage. In her athletic career, Odile Lesage-Diagana achieved notable feats.

She finished eighth at the 1988 World Junior Championships, seventeenth at the 1991 World Championships, and third at the 1993 Mediterranean Games.

Her accomplishments were particularly prominent in heptathlon and pentathlon, where she clinched the world record in 1991. She became a French athletics champion in 1989, 1990, and 1991, excelling in disciplines such as high jump and heptathlon.

Despite her impressive track record, she chose not to seek public glory and instead transitioned into communication roles within the French athletics federation after retiring from sports.

Both Stéphane Diagana and Odile Lesage managed their post-athletic careers with excellence. Stéphane continued to be a prominent figure in media and broadcasting, while Odile pursued her education, graduating from the Ecole Supérieure de Commerce in Paris in 1993.

She held marketing and communication roles in major companies before joining the French Athletics Federation.

In 2011, she became the director of SAS Diagana Sport Santé, a venture she co-founded with her husband to establish a “sport-health” campus in Mougins, Alpes-Maritimes.
