ESPN analyst Stephen A. Smith, who has lately been in the limelight for taking a dig at Tennessee Titans Quarterback Will Levis, openly admitted that he has never been married and is content with his life without a wife.

On September 22, 2023, Stephen shared a clip on his Instagram revealing his marital status. In the caption, he wrote,

I’m 55 years old…I’ve never been married…and I’m happy about it

Further, in the clip, he expressed his viewpoint on marital relationships, comparing other celebrities’ marriages, saying,

Now, one could easily surmise that a past rife with some degree of promiscuity might, dare I say, contributed to my desire to be single, but that is not the reason. I am not upset about being single Jeezy, how he filed for divorce from his wife, Jeannie Mai, only after two years of marriage, former friends are saying she’s after his money.

Stephen A. Smith also debated whether American actor and director Kevin Costner is paying child support to improve the quality of life of his children then, why does he have to pay extra and asked if it’s for the wife he has already left?

Well, it appears like the Bronx native Stephen is fed up with all these divorce rates and the obligation that the husband has to pay alimony and some other amount in the name of spouse and child support to his ex-wife, even after their separation.

But having said that doesn’t mean he doesn’t want to get married. In his self-titled show, he once said,

I am not against marriage at all. In fact, I hope to be married someday. I hope to walk down that aisle. I hope to be standing there on the altar and wait for my beautiful bride to come sauntering down the aisle. I want to see that.

Stephen A. Smith also added that if he ever tied the knot, he would have more focus on his honeymoon rather than the costly wedding. Well, he appears to have found his soulmate as well.

A year back, in July 2023, the media spotted him enjoying his summer getaway vacation at Barbados beach with the mystery woman.

Though Stephen A. Smith never got married, he welcomed two daughters from two different women

In a 2019 interview with GQ, Stephen A. Smith disclosed that he is the father of two daughters, Samantha, 11, and Nyla, 10, at the time.

Most recently, during his appearance on The Breakfast Club podcast, Stephen talked about his experience of having daughters without getting married to his baby mamas, whose identity has yet to be revealed.

He said that his now-late mother, Janet, was ashamed of it, so she made him swear he would care for his children more than anything else.

According to Stephen, his daughters are everything for him now. He doesn’t eat unless his daughters eat, and he doesn’t go on vacation unless they have a quality holiday. He considers being the father to be a blessing and a curse at the same time.

In Club Shay Shay show, he said,

Being a dad to daughters is the greatest blessing and the worst curse because the blessing is you didn’t know what love is until you thought you knew what love was, and then they came along. The curse is you didn’t know what love is until they came along, so you never had peace. You’re always worried; you’re worried about everything worry about everything

Despite his deep love for his children, Stephen hardly posts about them on his social media, probably because he is concerned about protecting them from media scrutiny.
