Steve Nash is a former player and basketball coach from Canada who most recently served as head coach of the Brooklyn Nets. He is a devout Christian. 

He played 18 seasons in the NBA, during which he was an eight-time All-Star and two-time NBA Most Valuable Player.

Nash finished his education at Mount Douglas Secondary and St. Michaels University School.

Steve Nash Family Tree

Steve Nash was born on 7 February 1974, in Johannesburg, South Africa, to his father, John Nash, and his mother, Jean Nash.

Nash’s family moved to Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada, when he was around 18 months old. But in the end, they settled in Victoria, British Columbia.

Before the family immigrated to Canada, his father, a professional soccer player who was born in London’s Tottenham neighborhood, traveled the various parts of the world.

Nash’s father is of English ancestry, while his mother is Welsh. 

Martin Nash and Joann Nash are Steve’s two siblings. Martin played professional soccer in Canada and the United States, while Joann is a former college basketball player.

Career

Steve Nash played for the Phoenix Suns from 1996 to 1998. Similarly, he played from 1998 through 2004 for the Dallas Mavericks. Again he played from 2004 through 2012 for the Phoenix Suns.

He also played for the Los Angeles Lakers from 2012 to 2015.

Nash announced his retirement from playing on 21 March 2015.

He took over as the Brooklyn Nets coach in 2020.

On 1 November, Nash and the Brooklyn agreed to part ways amid controversies revolving around the team’s players.
