Since his career in Canadian ice hockey began in the early 1980s, Steve Yzerman has consistently been in the limelight for his contributions, first as a player and then as an executive vice president and general manager of the Detroit Red Wings.
Over these years, Steve has accomplished much as a sportsperson. He was named the most outstanding player in the 1988-89 season, the league’s best defensive forward in 2000, and many others.

Well, whatever the matter is, it’s been known that Steve Yzerman has been happily married to his wife, Lisa Brennan, for the last 35 years.
According to a Tampa Bay Times report, Steve Yzerman and his wife were high school sweethearts. They dated for several years and were engaged for a year before tying the knot in 1989.
During an interview with Vault, Steve disclosed his engagement with then-future wife Lisa in February 1988.
He responded to an interviewer’s question, “Is there anything else I should know about you? Are you dating anyone? Perhaps the commissioner’s daughter?,” answered,
No. But I did get engaged a couple weeks ago.

At the time, while Lisa was a sophomore at Algonquin College in Ottawa, Steve had already stepped into sports and was serving as the Captain position of the Detriot Red Wings.
It’s been over thirty years since the couple has gracefully led their marital relationship.
However, they hardly make media appearances together and are reluctant to display their personal lives via social media.

Five years after tying the knot, Steve Yzerman and his wife entered parenthood, welcoming their firstborn, Isabelle Katherine. She was born in 1994 and is currently in her late 20s.
They became parents for the second time with the birth of their second daughter, Maria Charlotte, in 1998. Similarly, their youngest one, Sophia Rose, was born in 1999.
All three of their daughters are grown up now. While the latest update on their lives is still under media review, the Yzerman broods were in college until 2018, thanks to Steve’s friend of 40 years, Pang, who disclosed this fact.
Further, Pang also revealed how great Steve was as a father during an exclusive talk with the New York Times. He had said,
He just loves those girls to death, and it’s an important stage in their life. He loves being a dad, going to school, going to football games. I’m sure like a lot of us, he’s missed a lot. He gets there and enjoys the moment.

Around 2018, while his daughters were living with their mothers in Michigan, he was 1000 miles away from them, but still, he made time for them. Well, this proves that Steve Yzerman is an absolute family man.
