Yeley’s journey into the world of racing began at a young age.
Growing up in Phoenix, he was introduced to the sport by his father, Jack Yeley, who was also involved in racing.
Yeley’s talent was evident early on, and he quickly rose through the ranks of the racing world.
By 1997, he had already captured the Rookie of the Year Award in the USAC National Sprint Car Series.
In 2004, Yeley debuted in the NASCAR Cup Series, driving for Joe Gibbs Racing.
Over the years, he has competed in various NASCAR series, including the Xfinity Series and the Craftsman Truck Series.

J.J. Yeley, competing part-time in the NASCAR Cup Series and the NASCAR Xfinity Series, recently shared a heartfelt social media post commemorating his and his wife, Kristen Marie Yeley’s 25th anniversary.

J.J. and Kristen tied the knot in 2004 and have been together ever since.
Kristen has been a supportive partner throughout Yeley’s racing career, often seen cheering him on from the stands.
According to her brief LinkedIn profile, she is a “Full time Mom.”

The couple’s only child, Faith Anne Yeley, was born on May 31, 2005.
As of December 2024, she is a sophomore at High Point University in North Carolina and a member of the Alpha Lambda Delta Honor Society.
Faith is also the Class of ’27 president.
She is an avid golfer and even won the Lake Norman High School Athlete of the Week award in golf.
Her Instagram feed paints the picture of an ambitious but fun-loving college student who is deeply in love with her boyfriend and fellow Highpoint student, Bennett Carter.
The Yeley family is very close-knit, and glimpses of their strong bond can be seen in their social media posts.
Both Kristen and Faith are often seen attending J.J.’s races and cheering on from the sidelines.
Reciprocating the love, J.J. never misses an opportunity to show his appreciation for his wife.

- J.J. Yeley is nicknamed “J.J.” after his father, Jack Yeley, and a close family friend. The initials stand for “Jimmy Jack,” a combination of his father’s name and the family friend’s name.
- Before making a name for himself in NASCAR, J.J. Yeley competed in the IndyCar Series. He participated in eight races over two years, including the prestigious Indianapolis 500 in 1998.
- In 2009, Yeley suffered a serious injury during a USAC race, breaking three cervical vertebrae. Despite the severity of the injury, he made a remarkable recovery and continued his racing career.
