19-Year-Old Sulphur, Louisiana Native and Sulphur High School Football Standout Khiden Pruett Passes Away, Survived by Parents Alex and Mary

Sulphur, Louisiana, community is mourning the untimely death of beloved high school student-athlete and culinary entrepreneur Khiden Pruett.

Khiden Pruett passed away earlier this week at the age of 19, however his family hasn’t yet disclosed the details surrounding his untimely death.

A native of Sulphur, Louisiana, Khiden Pruett touched the lives of many with his amazing athletic skills and his passion for making different cuisines.

Khiden Pruett, a talented student-athlete, made a lasting impression both on and off the football field.

Standing 6’1″ and weighing 240 pounds, Khiden played as a guard (#62) for the Sulphur High School varsity football team.

As a junior in 2024, he helped the team compete in a challenging district, finishing with a 3-7 record and a 1-6 mark in District play, earning a state ranking of #138. He was set to graduate with the Class of 2026.

Beyond football, Khiden was a passionate culinary student and entrepreneur.

Operating under the handle prueattss, he shared his culinary creations both in and out of school, garnering praise from the community for his creativity and dedication.

Social media posts highlight the positive reception of his food and the enthusiasm he inspired in others.

Khiden Pruett’s remarkable athletic journey and his culinary entrepreneurial skills will always be remembered by his loved ones.

Social Media is Filled With Heartfelt Tributes to the Late Khiden Pruett

The untimely death of Khiden Pruett has left his family, friends, and loved ones devastated.

Many of his loved ones are sharing Khiden’s memories on social media and extending their heartfelt condolences to his family during this difficult time.

One wrote:

“Khiden was such an intentional kid and worked incredibly hard. He had a hustle about him, and a deep love for others. I’m going to miss seeing him around school and out & about in the community. Please pray for his mom, dad, family, friends, current & former teachers, and all those who loved him.”

“One of the most well mannered young men iv ever met. I always expected great things out of you little buddy. You could definitely brighten anybody’s day. Rest easy now Khiden Pruett”

Khiden Pruett is survived by his beloved parents, Alexander Como and Mary Gross, his siblings, his stepfather, Trey Gross, his grandmother, Melissa Broussard, his girlfriend, and the entire family.

While his father, Alex, hasn’t released any statement regarding the untimely death of Khiden as he is currently grieving the loss and prefers to maintain a low profile, his mother, Mary Gross, took to her social media to express her sorrow and pay tribute to her late son.

Mary wrote:

“Tonight I heard the words every mother dreads. “Time of death 8:41.” I lost my son, the boy who made me a mom and taught me what love was. My heart aches with the most indescribable pain. We ordered his cap and gown last week. His life was just beginning. Khiden was loved by everyone that knew him and the world won’t shine as bright without him. Please keep our family in your prayers in the days and weeks to come.”

Mary also appreciated all the love and prayers the family received during this difficult time and wrote:

“Appreciate all the love and prayers from all of you. Hearing the stories of how many lives my son impacted reminds me of the role I played in molding him into the man he was becoming. Khiden touched all the lives he came across.”

She further added that once the coroner releases Khiden’s body, the family will begin making arrangements and will soon provide details about his funeral and memorial services.
